ColorfulTabs

About this add-on

ColorfulTabs is an extension for Firefox, Seamonkey, Pale Moon, Iceape and other browsers that support XUL overlay extensions.

Colorfultabs paints browser tabs in different colors, making them easily distinguishable. At the same time, this makes the browser interface more colorful and attractive.

Main ColorfulTabs features:

  • Color tabs by using sequential colors from the preselected palette
  • Colors tabs using randomly generated colors
  • Colors tabs depending on the site domain name using a formula
  • Paint tabs using colors specified for individual domains and groups of domains
  • Allows user to assign colors manually
  • Make the current tab more prominent than the others
  • Color the list of open tabs according to respective tabs colors
  • Send a tab to the beginning or end of the list
  • Reduce the width of tabs to a little more than site icons
  • Tab colors are remembered when the browser is shut down or terminated and restored when the previous session is restored

Unfortunately, the original author (Shivanand Sharma, https://www.addongenie.com) has abandoned it long ago in favor of its WebExtensions kind.

The Colorfultabs 31.3, presented here, is a my revision of the original extension in order to fix existing errors, get rid of some restrictions, add new functionality, and most importantly, support more browsers, including Pale Moon with its AllTabs panel.
