Revive Pages

About this add-on

Most of the current websites on the Internet are characterized by volatility: the contents of their pages get changed frequently, the pages get moved to another locations or even removed altogether, as well as the sites themselves get deleted. However, bookmarks remain in the browsers, and other sites and search engines still have links leading to this disappeared information, and people sometimes need to access it.

Revive Pages is an extension for Firefox (up to version 57), Seamonkey, Pale Moon, Iceape-UXP and other browsers that support extensions created using XUL overlay technology, intended to solve this task by using of dedicated Web sites (mirrors), which hold copies of other Web sites.

In order to do this, it adds to the standard browser Error page its own buttons with which you can try to open a copy of the page saved in one of these archives.

Apart that, it adds a new menu item for this operation to context menus of web pages and links on them. Identical items it adds to context menus of the Page Source window and links in it. And yet one "Revive this page..." menu item it adds to the "Tools" menu (if this is not disabled in the extension settings).
Also during browser UI customization you can drag extension button to any of browser panels.

By clicking on any of the above-mentioned elements you will open a window for selection of the desired archive.
